SDC4 dataset

The SDC4 dataset consists of  two simulated 5000 h polarization surveys obtained with SKA Mid/Low with the AA* configuration (Including 307 Low stations and 144 Mid dishes, see this page for more details.

Summarised details of the data products are as follows:

S100

  • a 10 x 10 deg survey with a 10 arcsec FWHM with SKA Low (150-350 MHz), SKA Mid Band 1 (350-950 MHz) and SKA Mid Band 2 (950-1760 MHz) and a frequency sampling targeting a 5% depolarization for a nominal rotation measure RMnom=500 rad m-2 (3162 + 582 + 63 spectral images for SKA-Low, Mid Band 1 and Mid Band 2 respectively)

S9

  • a 3x3 deg survey with a 3 arcsec FWHM of SKA Mid Band 2 (950-1760 MHz) only, and a frequency sampling targeting a 5% depolarization for a nominal rotation measure RMnom=5000 rad m-2 (643 spectral images)



For each survey we provide I, Q, U, V spectral images. Ancillary data include the mosaic sensitivity patterns in total intensity and polarization, and the PSF.

The dataset, of total size 22 TB,  will be made available once the challenge starts.
